雪崩業務従事者レベル1

雪崩業務従事者レベル1コースは、山岳ガイドやスキーパトロールなどアウトドアの現場で働くプロフェッショナルに対して基礎訓練の機会を提供します。コースは一週間に渡り、雪崩現象、山岳の積雪特性や地形理解、気象や積雪データの採取と記録、雪崩ハザード評価およびリスク管理、そして捜索救助などを学びます。

The Avalanche Operation Level 1 course provides a basic training opportunity for mountain guides, ski patrollers, and other outdoor professionals. The week-long course covers avalanche phenomena, mountain snowpack characteristics and terrain understanding, weather and snowpack data collection and recording, avalanche hazard assessment and risk management, and avalanche search and rescue.
* The JAN is not a guiding organization and the Training School (TS) is not guiding courses. In Japan, please refer to the JMGA (Japan Mountain Guide Association) for courses that lead to recreational users guiding in avalanche-prone settings.

１．プログラムの目標と目的 Program Goals

レベル1の目標と目的の詳細はDACUM （pdf）を確認してください。DACUMとは、Developing A Curriculumの略称です。カナダ雇用・移民省が開発したカリキュラム開発手法で、その後、米国オハイオ州立大学職業教育研究センターで効果が実証され、広く普及しました。対象となる職務内容と職能、そして必要とする資質などを抽出して、カリキュラムを開発します。

Avalanche Operations Level 1 goals and objectives are displayed in the course DACUM（PDF). DACUM is an abbreviation for Developing A Curriculum. It is a curriculum development method developed by Employment and Immigration Canada, which was later proven effective at the Center for Vocational Education and Research at Ohio State University in the United States and is widely used. The curriculum is developed by identifying the target job descriptions and job functions, as well as the qualities required.

２．事前条件　Prerequisites

申込者は、以下の条件を満たす必要があります。

Applicants must have and prove at the time of registration:

• 20歳以上であること。
  Be 20 or older for courses.
• JAN BSCやAvalanche Canada AST 1、あるいはそれと同等の講習会を受講していること。（JAN ASCあるいはAvalanche CanadaのAST 2を推奨）。
  JAN Safety Camp (BSC) or Avalanche Skills Training Level 1 (AST 1) or similar training and experience at the time of registration (ASC or AST 2 is recommended).
• バックカントリーにおけるスキーあるいはスプリットボードでの上級滑走技術および優れた体力があること。ツアー用のビンディング、シールなどの使用に慣れていること。バックパックを背負い、深雪やクラスト、ウインドスラブ、密な樹林など、様々な条件となる急峻な地形で安定して滑走できること。この基準を満たさない場合、コースの途中でも受講の停止がありえます。
  Advanced backcountry skiing or splitboarding skills, and good fitness. As a skier or splitboarder, you should be proficient with the use of touring bindings, skins, and skis/splitboard. You should be capable of riding in a variety of conditions and terrain, such as deep snow, breakable crust, wind slab, and trees while carrying a backpack. If students do not meet the criteria, they will be required to leave the course.
• 仲間による雪崩捜索救助の手順と、複数埋没の捜索（雪崩ビーコン2個、広さ40m×40m、深さ70cm以上に埋設）のスキルに熟達し、一貫性ある動作ができること。
  Be proficient and consistent in companion rescue and multiple burial transceiver skills (find two transceivers buried at least 70cm deep in a 40m x 40m area in under 15 minutes).

３．コース評価 Course Evaluation

この一週間の訓練コースは、理論を学ぶ座学が40％、現場適応のフィールド実習が60％で構成されています。コースの評価は筆記試験と練習問題、フィールドブックの記載、技能試験とフィールド・ディスカッションを組み合わせて行います。コースにおける評価区分は以下の６項目です。

This one-week training technical training course is comprised of approximately 40% theory and classroom work, and 60% practical application and fieldwork. Course evaluation is based on a combination of written exams and exercises, fieldbook, skills tests and field discussions. The six assessment categories of the course are as follows:

• 気象観測 Weather Observation
• スノープロファイル Snow Profile
• 雪崩ハザード評価　Avalanche Hazard Assessment
• 雪崩捜索救助 Avalanche Search and Rescue
• 筆記試験 Written Exams
• フィールドブック Fieldbook

合格条件 requirements:

• 雪崩業務従事者レベル1の認定を受けるには、すべての項目で 70%以上の点数が必要です。
  Students must obtain a minimum of 70% on all assessment categories to attain the Avalanche Operations Level 1 certificate.
• 総合点が70%に達しながら、評価項目の内１項目のみが不合格だった場合、不合格項目の再試験を受けることができます。ただし、雪崩ハザード評価を落とした場合は、コース全体が不合格となります。再試験には追加料金が必要です。
  If a student has an overall mark of 70% but has failed in ONE of the assessment categories, they are eligible to re-test the failed category. This applies to all categories except for avalanche hazard assessment. An additional fee will be charged for retests.
• 評価項目２つが不合格の場合、総合点が70%以上あっても不合格です。
  Failure in two assessment categories fails the entire course despite an overall mark greater than 70%.
• コース前半に実際される雪崩捜索救助のスキルテストに合格する必要があります。
  Students must pass the companion rescue skills test during the first half of the course.
